Thank you for joining us again with another blog, Beard Beasts is dedicated to becoming the number 1 source for all bearded content, bringing you the finest tips and tricks on how to best take care of your beard.
It's a new day and a new week so I thought I'd kick the week off with - "4 Beard Grooming Tips Every Bearded Man Should Follow".
The 4 beard grooming tips I will be going over in this blog are aimed at giving you the very best beard you can get towards the end of 2020 leading into 2021.
Let's not waste no time and jump straight into tip number 1:
Keep Your Beard And Face Clean And Moisturised!
It is pretty much common sense that if you don't shave or trim, your beard will start growing out. However, for the best results, it is essential that we give our beard the best conditions to grow.
The difference between an unruly, messy beard that's dryer than the Sahara desert and a beard that is full and healthy with a nice shine, is proper conditions for your beard to grow out.
Keeping the beard hydrated is a must, but keeping the skin beneath your beard hydrated is essential, which in return will give you a boost for beard growth and overall beard health.
In many of my previous blogs, I have spoke about the importance of washing your beard with a product designed for the beard.
Your typical store-bought shampoos contain chemicals that are harsh on your beard hairs. These shampoos typically strip your beard hairs and the skin beneath, of any moisture and good natural oils, leaving your beard and the skin beneath completely dried out.
This is usually the main reason why many bearded men suffer from "beard itch", "beard dandruff" and other dryness skin irritations.
So it is important to wash and moisturise your beard with high quality products that were designed specifically for your beard. These products should offer protection against dryness problems such as, beard itch, dandruff (aka flaky skin), and other dryness problems.
Exercise and Diet For A Beard Growth Boost
Eating healthy foods frequently and getting your backside down the gym can really help when it comes to beard growth. If you eat a crappy diet that consists of greasy foods, then your body will reflect that, including your beard.
Our bodies need nutrients to function, that's no hidden secret. How many nutrients come from fried greasy foods? Not many at all.
Without the proper nutrients, our bodies won't be able to function properly. Our bodies need good sources of protein and vegetables, when it comes to hair growth.
So by cleaning up your diet and eating more good sources of proteins, such as chicken, beef and fish as well as vegetables, will really help with beard growth.
Exercising doesn't just help our bodies release tension and help our overall fitness, it also helps our mental state.
By exercising we raise our testosterone levels, which is a major help in beard growth and it also helps lower our stress-levels. Lowering our stress-levels is also major because our bodies do not work as good when we are stressed.
So by exercising and eating a balanced diet that consists of vegetables, fruits, eggs, nuts and proteins, we will provide our bodies with plenty of nutrients and testosterone that will help boost beard growth and the overall health of our skin, mental state and bodies.
Choose the right beard oils, beard washes, beard balms
Our beards reflect the quality we put into it. There is no beard expert out there that would disagree with that.
Therefore, one of the best pieces of advice I can give you, is that you shouldn't cut costs on beard products and just go cheap.
"You get what you pay for" this statement is so true!
If you buy crappy beard products then don't expect a great and healthy beard!!
They are not value for money or budget-friendly because they usually contain fillers and in some cases even silicone.
Now I am not saying that you should "pay an arm and a leg" for your beard products. You should opt to look for beard care products that contain high quality ingredients.
Whether it costs $5 or $20 is irrelevant. It's the ingredients that make a high quality beard oil not the price.
The better quality ingredients, the better nutrients your beard and the skin beneath your beard gets.
Fillers and silicone don't offer anything good to your beard or skin.
Now you have a fresh new routine to try out, figure what plan works best with yourself and then continue to upkeep it.
I have given you some great tips for beard growth, It is now down to you to implement them into your beard routines and day to day life.
Implementing new things in our lives can be difficult until they become a habit. A new habit takes around 66 days to form I believe.
So if you decide to add one or all of these tips into your daily routine and beard care routine then it becomes easier the longer you do it.
Quick recap, Keep your beard clean, using the correct beard washes and conditioners, find yourself a high quality beard oil and beard balm, better balance in your diet and eat more veggies, fruits and fresh proteins and try to get 2 or 3 workouts in a week. Buy products based on quality not price.
